Black Rapids Retreat | Waterfront Cozy Cottage

I understand the desire to prevent damaging parties but the rules were rather extreme for us as a family of 4 with grandparents. Check in was generally quite good, however, the access to the bunkhouse was problematic, but the host resolved the issue once I contacted them. The cleaning was generally ok but not great. Spiders and spider webs were inside and outside. The host had the exterior sprayed while we were there, and then they became a bigger problem inside. Lack of maintenance was evident. eg rotted entry way door frame, missing or damaged rain gutters causing rain to flow from the roof into the windows. There was a very nice outside deck but it was not cleaned and had tons of spiders and webs. The ac units in the bedrooms were great but the unit on the main floor did not work. The windows had screens but the inside frmaes were filled with bugs so were could not open them. Accomodatiions allowed 6 people but neither the table or living room accomodated seating for 6. One of the rules was no shoes inside the house. The floor in the living room and kitchen are different levels but hard to see because of the same colour. There is about a 1 " difference resulting in frequent toe stubbing. On the positive side, great location, bedrooms all had good ac units. The bathroom was clean, although quite small. Nicely stocked kitchen with good pots and pans, comfy blankets and clean linens. Nice doc area for fishing. Considering all the above, the price was excessive.

Lovely cottage on a lake that is great for kayaking and canoeing. The dock is great for water access (including swimming).

We enjoyed our stay. Kylie was incredibly responsive to anything we requested. She came to the house on her vacation to help us.

Beautiful cozy cqbin, so ku h life in and around the water - saw turtles a heron, and an eagle! Loved the porch, BBQ and overall experience.

We had an awesome time at the Black Rapids Retreat. Our family loved having the private dock on the lake to fish & swim. We especially enjoyed being able to take the canoe out. The hosts were so accommodating and wonderful with communication.
